Happy Daddy's Day Mr. Eanes

After teaching with Mr. Eanes for two years, there was one thing I was certain of... he was going to be a really good Dad. And, almost ten months later he has yet to prove me wrong. Together we have been stretched to lengths we never knew we could and survived on less sleep than we thought was possible and in all those times I was so thankful it was him by my side.  Happy First Day of Daddy's Mr. Eanes- we love you!

Why I Love My Daddy
By: Mia Kate Eanes

1. He wears pink for me.  The day Mommy & Daddy found out I was a girl.  Mommy had purchased this shirt as a gift for Daddy on the off chance he might need to wear something pink to the hospital the day I was born.
2. He cuddles with me.  This is my birthday night.  I woke Mommy up at 3:30am, was born at 9:01am, and wasn't allowed to be held until 4:00pm.  So, by this time Daddy had already changed out of his pink.  I wasn't a fan of the blue, so I took care of it...

He was such a good sport about it too.  Sorry Daddy I don't like blue.
3. He cares about what I wear.  When we got home and Daddy was in charge of dressing me one day Mommy raced into the room beckoned by screams of bloody murder... she thought something terrible had happened.  Expecting to find me curled up on the floor, she was surprised I was just hanging out on the changing table while Daddy was yelling words like pervert and demanding to know what was wrong with society.  Apparently he was very distressed over how inappropriate the outfit was that GG had sent me.  Hey Daddy... It's not so bad if you don't put it on backwards.
4. He supports my endeavors.  Mommy decided to stick with the job of dressing me and Daddy took over occupying me during tummy time.

5. He loses sleep for me. When the reflux came I moved into Mommy & Daddy's room and slept in the Nap Nanny.  Leaving Mommy's warm arms in the middle of the night was such a bummer, so for 2 months Daddy got up 3 times or more a night and warmed up a heating pad to keep my spot in the Nap Nanny warm.  Thanks Daddy.  Some days I was so worn out I couldn't even wait for the heating pad and I just would fall asleep at dinner- I'm so glad Mommy & Daddy could have a quiet, intimate dinner this night.
6. He celebrates holidays with me.  Here we are in our Halloween costumes.
7. He teaches me about all life's important things- like snow and NC State.
8. He keeps me safe from the black and white baby that lives downstairs.  I really love that Otis but his hair seems to have grown in much quicker than mine and I think his shampoo doesn't work as well as mine.
9. He lets me hang out with him.
10. He teaches me how to make a serious face...some things in life are very serious indeed.

I love you Daddy- Happy First Father's Day- I hope you have a wonderful day!
