Expert Sorter- 17 Months

The seventeen month mark brought on serious sorting skills and a plethora of new opinions from our littlest family member. Mia's new favorite pastimes include pulling every single book off her bookshelf, putting all of her pacifiers into her beach bucket, and sitting in her bed reading right after she wakes up.

Most of Mia's vocabulary continues to be made of ramblings, but every once and a while you will catch a word that sounds almost familiar. We love watching her grow and count it as our privilege God entrusted her to us.

I felt the designated shoe area was not appropriate so I moved them all neatly into the living room.

Then I decided they might have been better where they were so I took them all back.

I decided to catch up on a little reading and sorting at my new table Nannie and Papa gave me.

After I finished with the baby books I moved onto the magazines... I took them all out very carefully to read...

And then put them back when I was finished.

Hey Mom,  I'm out of pacifiers to throw in this bucket, do you have anymore?

We spent Noon Years Eve at the Children's Museum, clearly Mia loves having her picture taken with us. Let me down I have things to play with.

My new surprise face. Oh my word... did you see that baby's diaper?

No, really... you need to see this diaper.

Good try Daddy but your surprise face is not as good as mine.

Many days later we redressed up in our Christmas best to decorate ginger bread cookies with Caden.

I will let the fact that I am wearing Christmas tree's on my outfit in January pass just this once... I wouldn't want these cookies to go to waste.

I know it Papa, can you believe she dressed me up in Christmas gear in January?!?

Here I am trying to vie for the chance to stay up past my bedtime and watch the big game... turns out they should have let me. My surprise face would have knocked Alabama off the field.

The next day I didn't want to get out of bed when I heard the sad news. Now, after you wake up it is important to collect all the paci's and immediately put them in your bucket. Once said paci's are in place, dump the bucket out and repeat the process.

No, don't worry Mommy didn't make me wear this outfit yet again, she just couldn't get it to import in the correct order. I find it is easier to identify the animals in the book when I pick out my own headband and demand pink socks put over the white ones I already have on. Makes it much easier to think that way.

I'm thinking fashion design could be in my future?

In order to release some endorphins and correctly deal with the terrible loss I decided to take up gymnastics.

After my first gymnastics class I picked up the rotavirus and promptly shared it with Mommy. Luckily I got over it pretty quickly but Mommy didn't make out so well...that mass of crumpled gray clothes behind me is her body.

I like it when Daddy is in charge, he changes me out of my pj's to put another pair of pj's right back on. I thought the outfit was lacking a little so I demanded to wear my pink jacket inside too.

The pink jacket helped the outfit, but the glasses really finished it off.

While we waited on Mommy to recover I set to work on learning some words. I have to say learning all 100 is going to be tough work.
